Under 16’s miss golden opportunity

The Under 16’s this afternoon only managed a draw against Neptunes when only a win was required to keep on nurturing hopes of winning the league.

The boys were always in front but never managed to go beyond a two goal lead until ultimately Neptunes managed to obtain the draw in the dying seconds of the game. At the end of the game we regret the many squandered goal opportunities while Neptunes were good enough to take their chances. Moreover, possession was given away too cheaply when it mattered most. Otherwise it was a good performance where the boys showed good levels of fitness, were creative in attack and were very aggressive in defence.

The game was played at our pitch in front of a nice crowd who constantly supported our boys while the supporters also decorated the Club’s premises for this occasion with a long flag that covered the length of the pitch.

A junior league title eludes the Club once again. In these moments perseverance has to be the word, both at administrative level but also among the squad,  as we believe that for this group it is only a matter of time before they win the prize they ultimately deserve.
