Exiles won the top match of the evening. They held on after a late rally by San Ġiljan to shock their opponents for a 9-6 victory.
Backed by a resolute rearguard, masterminded by Aliosa Kunac, Exiles were also powered by four-goal Marton Toth.
The Saints were a disjointed side, scoring only three times from 11 man-ups against their opponents’ 50 per cent reading on six occasions.
Indeed, Exiles were a much improved outfit following their first match in the preliminary round.
