San Giljan  beat Sirens to place third in the preliminary round to gain two valuable points in view of the Premier League  that will certainly see San Giljan as protagonists. Today’s was Matthew Zammit’s day as he was making his much awaited comeback. The numerous San Giljan supporters greeted him with a banner which may be seen in the attached photo.

Today’s was a difficult match with San Giljan being  erratic particularly in the first part of the game as they had to fight back from a 4-1 disadvantage with Boris Letica with two exclusions after a few minutes. Nonetheless, San Giljan managed to fight back even thanks to Matthew Zammit who immediately made an impact on the game scoring a couple of goals and creating other problems to the Sirens defence. From then on it was a tight game as San Giljan only managed to build a three goal advantage in the last minutes of the last session.

After the match  the official team photo was taken  by photographer Michele Agius. This will be uploaded shortly.
