San Giljan ASC Club Head Coach Karl Izzo is back from a two-day Seminar
“Convegno Allenatori di Pallanuoto” organized by the Settore Istruzione Tecnica
which was held at the Centro Federale FIN in Ostia, Italy. The themes that were
covered included physical and physiological criteria, psychology, technical
preparation, youths training, scientific research and performance analysis.
The added value of this Seminar also consisted in the presence of
prestigious speakers such as Sandro Campagna, Italian national team coach,
Giovanni Melchiorri, Italian national team doctor, Bruna Rossi, psychologist of
the Italian national team and Alessandro Amato, physical trainer of the Italian
national team.
During this ‘convegno’ various waterpolo technical and tactical
innovations were discussed apart from the physiological and psychological
approach of the Italian National Team in preparation for the London 2012
Olympics which saw the Italian team winning the silver medal.
On the same occasion following a personal invitation, Karl Izzo also
accompanied Italian national team coach Sandro Campagna, while the Italian national
team was on a two day training camp.
