San Giljan Crystal Finance Investments easily overcome Valletta

San Giljan Crystal Finance     15     Valletta McDonalds     6

(5-2, 2-1, 4-0, 4-3)

San Giljan are the sole leaders in the league table after all the teams have played a couple of games each. Valletta have lost points in this encounter, and Sliema were held by Sirens a day ago, leaving the Saints with six points from two victories. It was a heavy win for San Giljan, decided considerably by the stark contrast in man ups by the two sides. Both of them had a total of seven occasions with an extra player, with the Saints converting six of them, but Valletta were woeful when they failed to breach their opponents’ fort in all seven man ups.

The Saints had already established a winning lead in the opening session, and they increased it slightly till the interval, when they were leading 7-3. Valletta kept on wasting their man ups, and the Saints put in four more goals after the break to make sure of their victory. The last session was more balanced, but San Giljan were always in control, to stroll to their victory.

Aurelien Cousin had a profitable game, with five goals to his credit, and Guillermo Molina shot in three more goals. Gergely Kiss was Valletta’s main scorer, with a paltry two strikes.
