San Giljan lose third place play-off

Playing without the injured Nicola Sutic San Giljan did not manage to win the second play-off as Sirens emerged winners with the score of 8-6.

In the circumstances as expected the game turned out to be an uphill struggle.  Nonetheless, the boys always managed to stay in the game, however they were lacking that edge to manage to overcome Sirens. Youngsters Kai Dowling and Jean Claude Cutajar once again played for long spells and gave their positive contribution to the squad.

Now that the season is over its assessment time. This has to be done well and quickly by all those concerned as action will have to be taken quickly so as to start the new season in a planned fashion with clear and realistic targets ahead. Indeed the last few weeks have provided a negative finale for what otherwise was turning out to be a positive season with the team proving to be competitive in all occasions. While corrections are necessary, more needs to be done to build on what has been kicked off in the last seasons such as the inclusion of new young faces in the squad.

As all aware next season will see the much awaited return of player Matthew Zammit. However this cannot be seen as the solution of all problems but certainly this return is likely to give the team a face lift.

The Club’s website will be updated regularly even now that the season is over as this website as the only official mouthpiece of the Club will be the first to break any official news concerning the Club.
