Under 17’s beaten by Exiles while Under 13’s participate in waterpolo festival

A heavily depleted Under 17 squad, this afternoon was beaten by Exiles 9-4 in the second game of the Age Group Winter League. During the first half of the match the boys seemed to be superior despite the absence of four important players. In fact they were three one up at the end of the second session. However, all the deficiencies were evident in a disastrous third session which the boys ended losing 6-0. By this point the game was all but over as some of the junior players were showing signs of fatigue after they had played all morning in the under 13 waterpolo festival.

This festival was played this morning where boys born in 1998 and after were involved. The other participating teams were Sliema, Neptunes, Exiles, Sirens and M’Scala. For many boys it was the first experience of competitive waterpolo. An experience they relished and which we look forward to repeat in the coming months.
