Istvan Udvardi 1st Division Champion with San Giljan in 1994 died suddenly today at the age of 51. Istvan had a very prominent career winning an Olympic bronze medal with Hungary in Moscow back in 1980 and played for established clubs such as Savona. We all remember him as a very strong centre. One of the best ever seen on the island. His back hands were remarkable and indeed memorable was his great display against Sirens in the league decider where he was decisive for San Giljan’s league victory.
