In the first BOV Winter League match San Giljan ASC beat Valletta WPC 11-5. San Giljan took a good advantage in the opening sessions and administered the match as coach Karl Izzo made use of all the players on the bench including some juniors who were making their first team debut such as Joseph Galea and Ben Plumpton. Worth noting is the hat-rick scored by another junior player Anthony Bugeja.
Especially in the second part of the game San Gilja were too wasteful while Valletta started converting their chances to reduce the disadvantage.
