After beating Italian side Lerici 11-6, Ta’ Xbiex 20-15, San Giljan also beat hosts Valletta 19-18 to end up as overall winners of the Valletta WPC Tournament. It is worth noting that Head Coach Karl Izzo used this tournament to play the younger players of the team as the selected line ups were made up predominantly by players that usually feature in the Under 20 squad.
In the meantime on Friday the Under 20 squad was beaten by a superior Sliema side 12-3. Once again San Giljan besides including several under age players were also facing a side strengthened by the presence of two strong foreign players.
