Another double win for Juniors

The first  to play this afternoon were the Under 15’s who bounced back from the heavy defeat against Sliema by beating M’Scala 5-2. The San Giljan boys who were weloming back key player Joseph Galea looked superior throughout all the match against an opponent which opted for defensive tactics to try and limit the score. San Giljan made it a double over M’Scala after beating them also in the first round.

The highlight of the day was provided by the Under 20 squad that beat Otters 10-7 in spite of playing once again against a team that included two foreigners. On the day San Giljan were also heavily depleted as they were missing both Jean Claude Cutajar and Andreas Galea. The rest of the squad fought hard to make up for all the adverse circumstances to manage to obtain the first win in the Under 20 league. The margin between the two teams could have been ever wider but Rath’s boys missed a couple of sitters which luckily did not prejudice the final result.

Juniors will be back in action on Thursday as the Under 17’s play Sliema at Sliema pitch at 19.30.
