Juniors make it a double win over Sliema

Both Under 13 and Under 17 squads this afternoon beat Sliema at San Giljan pitch. This was the first win for the Under 13 squad as they beat Sliema 18-14. it was indeed a pleasure to see the pitch full of parents while both sets of teams gave their best to overcome their opponents.

Soon after it was the turn of the Under 17 squad that beat Sliema 9-6. The Boghy Rath boys were superior throughout the whole game and only let their opponents close down the margin in the very last session. Overall an encouraging performance by the boys who however still have to manage to maintain a constant level of performance for the whole game.

Tomorrow it will  be the turn of the Under 15’s to play Sliema at San Giljan pitch at 17.00.

In the meantime yesterday the Under 20 squad lost 12-7 to Exiles. The boys most of them underage, as expected are finding it tough in this age group as they are playing without foreign players unlike their opponents. However, good performances like yesterday’s are very useful in terms of experience for the boys as they are indeed punching above their weight against stronger opponents. During yesterday’s game San Giljan player Joseph Galea picked an ugly eye injury which had to be checked in hospital. Luckily the injury was only superficial. However, he will have to stay away from training and matches for a couple of days. Get well soon Joseph!
