San Giljan Allcare Insuranc e player and Captain Matthew Zammit has been awarded the BOV Player of the year Award 2014. This most prestigious award is an honour for Matthew and indeed for our Club even more since Matthew is a home grown player who has practically always played for our Club.
Throughout this year he has been prominent with the Club and with the Maltese National Team where his performances were superlative. In fact he was instrumental for the Maltese team to claim a silver medal in the Commonwealth Games held in Aberdeen while he was also outstanding in the National Team’s victory in the EU8 Nations Tournament held in Limerick.
This award has been won by a San Giljan ASC player after nineteen years since Kurt Dowling was declared Player of the Year back in 1995.
