Ben Plumpton Wins BOV Premier League – Player of The Year!

We are very proud to announce BOV Player of the Year!

Ben Plumpton

The San Giljan player finished off a memorable season in style as he was voted ASA Player of the Year. This was the first time Ben Plumpton won this honour in his career. He joins several prestigious names who won this honour over the years.

Ben, 22, was a key player in the San Giljan squad helping the team to win the double winning both league and Knock Out competitions. Ben joined San Giljan from Marsascala at a very tender age when he was still 13 and played in all the Club’s age group teams making his way up through all the junior ranks until he became a regular senior team player back in 2014.

He provides an inspiration to the Club’s junior players who aspire to follow in Ben’s steps.

This year’s performances were outstanding as Ben was particularly constant and selfless in his contribution to the team under the guidance of coach Dorian Pisani. Ben is also a regular in the Malta National team having also played in the European Championships.

The last San Giljan player to win this honour was Matthew Zammit in 2014.
