On Saturday 7th November, Hon. Dr. Clifton Grima Parliamentary Secretary for Youths, Sports and Voluntary Organisations paid a visit to the Club during which a press conference was hosted at eeetwell
Dr. Grima announced that a study on the impact of waves has been completed, as plans for the building of a pool for the San Giljan Aquatic Sports Club continue. The study was required to ascertain the impact of the waves on the proposed structure.Dr. Grima also took this opportunity to congratulate San Giljan ASC for our achievements in winning both the league and knock-out this year
Dr. Grima also noted that the project is intended to provide the St Julian’s community with a high standard facility for waterpolo and swimming.
During the same occasion, San Giljan President Peter Bonavia explained how the study was a requisite for application filed with the Planning Authority. In this regard, a company based in Holland was assigned to carry out the study. The added value which will result from this project will also protect the sandy beach at Balluta Bay.
It is worth noting the study established that the project will have a positive impact on the environment as announced by a Department of Information statement.
At the end of the event Mr. Bonavia presented Dr. Grima with a San Giljan ASC kit top signed by all the players of the Senior Squad
