Indeed it was a great week end for the juniors as Under 17’s disposed of Neptunes while Under 15’s found little difficulty in beating M’Scala.
The Under 17’s beat Neptunes 10-5. What looked like a balanced affair took a very positive twist for our boys in the second part of the game where San Giljan piled up the advantage to make it a safe one much before the end of the game itself. It was a convincing performance by all players who carried out in the best of ways, the game plan set out by team coach Kurt Dowling who today was once again being assisted by Dean Camilleri who in these games is making a very welcome return to the coaching staff of the junior teams.
On Saturday the Under 15’s showed clear superiority over M’Scala as they ended up winning 11-7. In actual fact the advantage at the end of the third session was even wider as the score read 10-2. The last session was a good opportunity for the coaches to provide some playing time to the very young players that usually find it hard to play in this age group. A very positive experience even for these boys and a convincing win for the whole squad.
This week end’s matches saw the welcome return to the junior teams of player Anthony Bugeja who returned from a two month training spell in Hungary.
Sunday morning was dedicated to a Waterpolo Festival for boys born 1998 and after. Even here the boys provided a very good display where older players like Ben Plumpton, Joseph Galea and Darren Zammit were exemplary in their commitment to give a helping hand to the younger players during the matches that were played during this event.
