Under 15’s beat Sirens: decider required to determine league winners

This afternoon San Giljan beat Sirens 7-5. Following this result a decider tournament between Sirens, Sliema and San Giljan will be played on Sunday afternoon from two onwards to determine the league winners.

The boys’ performance in today’s match was very positive. Apart from the first minutes of the match, San Giljan were always ahead where the maximum margin was that of three goals. The boys were then very capable in administering the result even when Sirens closed the gap to only one goal.

Some fine goalkeeping by Daniel Spiteri and a tight defense to which all players contributed were crucial in today’s victory. It is also worth noting that player Darren Zammit played the whole match even though only two days ago he had a head injury which also required some stitches. The commitment shown by Darren witnesses the good spirit that these boys have been showing all along this league.

Preparation for Sunday’s decider will start as from tomorrow where the team will be training with coaches Kurt Dowling and Dean Camilleri. We wish the best of luck to our boys!
