San Giljan beat Exiles-“From the Papers”

San Giljan secure win over shy goal Exiles

San Giljan Allcare     10     Exiles Ferretti     2

(3-1, 1-1, 3-0, 3-0)

The Saints still grace the top of their group table, having added Exiles’ scalp to their other two victories. The match was still an open one till the interval, with San Giljan being held to a low 4-2 advantage, as Exiles were working hard in defence. The deciding factor was really Exiles’ missed opportunities whenever they had an extra player in the water.

Ten times they were a man up, and they failed to score in every one of them. The Saints then made sure after the interval, when they scored three times in each of the last two sessions, with no further reply from Exiles, who fell away, and offered no sufficient resistance to stay in the match.

On the contrary to the previous game, there were no foreign scorers till the interval, before the Saints’ imports put their names on the score sheet, but Exiles’ two foreigners were left goalless.

San Giljan converted three of their six man ups, with Dino Zammit on a hat trick, and doubles from Karl galea and Zejlko Kovacic.
